Iā€™m Ariel

Writer and Communication Specialist

I hold an MA in Applied Linguistics from Portland State University, where I developed a family ethnography around language and identity trauma and loss, forced migration, and the effects on family generations. I have a lifetime of experience working in communication, bringing understanding between people, and an ability to access the individual story.

Originally from San Francisco, I often write about growing up in my beloved city until it became too expensive to live there. Under the pen name Ariel Caroline, I write almost exclusively on things autobiographical but hope to one day write a great American mystery novel. I currently miss the California sunshine up in the Pacific Northwest where I live with my husband, my daughter and a couple strange animals.
